Made entirely using chardonnay grapes from two legendary parcels, Bouron-Leroy and Bouron-de-Midi, this is an elegant and complex expression of the terroir in the Cramant region of the Côte des Blancs. A victory during a growing season of contrasts, the 2006 vintage shows notes of pineapple, honey, hazelnut milk, and brioche.
Founded in 1811 by Pierre-Nicolas and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët in the heart of the Champagne region, Perrier-Jouët has historically focused on the elegance of chardonnay. With 65 hectares of vineyards rated at 99.2% Grand Cru, their expertise is deeply rooted in prominent parcels of the Côte des Blancs, perpetuating the House style: Floral & Intricate. The first Belle Epoque (previously called Fleur de Champagne) bottles were painted by Emile Gallé in 1902 during the Art Nouveau period, thus immortalizing the iconic Japanese anemone that delicately encircles the bottle. As an artist, he aimed to capture the essence of nature, a signature influence of the Perrier-Jouët style. Today, the current Cellar Master, Herve Deschamps, is only the 7th in the long history of the House. A champion of chardonnay, he created the first Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs cuvée with the 1993 vintage, released in 1998.
