This elegant wine shows a complex array of aromas, from dark fruits, to spicy oak and licorice, to violet floral notes. The palate opens with a rich fruit sweetness, showing notes of ripe red cherry and plum, then on to spicy, charry oak and hints of pepper. The tannins are supple and integrated, and the great concentration leads to a long savory finish.
Grapes for Stoneleigh Latitude are sourced from an area known locally as the ‘Golden Mile’. Here, the concentration of sunstones is higher than in other areas of northern Wairau Valley.
