Generous full flavors of sweet red fruits, with hints of fruit cake and dark chocolate. Subtle toasty notes derived from aging in traditional French and American oak wine barrels. Additional layers of textual complexity and smoothness to the Shiraz from finishing in aged Scotch whiskey barrels. The perfect wine for a casual, outdoor dinner party. Pairs with a pan-seared Scotch fillet of beef wrapped in smoky bacon.
In 1847, along the banks of Jacob’s Creek in Australia's Barossa wine region, Johann Gramp planted his first vineyard. His vision was to create great tasting wines that reflect the true character of the grapes and the land. To this day Jacob's Creek lives and breathes this vision by producing wines that showcase how each grape variety expresses itself when shaped by the soil and the sun of Australia.
To make Double Barrel, Jacob's Creek winemakers first craft beautifully rich red wines from superior quality grapes and mature them in traditional wine barrels. Then, using a unique Double Barrel technique, they finish them in aged whisk(e)y barrels to build additional layers of complexity and an incredibly smooth finish.
